I have lived my life secure, in the knowledge that the hard won freedoms, that have been the foundation of our country from it's inception, would not only bless my life but be passed on to my children and grandchildren. I now find that I have been beguiled. The trust I placed in authority has been betrayed. All those who have fought so bravely to uphold the principles on which this nation, of the people, for the people, and by the people, rest. Have been betrayed. Their sacrifice was for not, their lives , their promise, their intellect, wasted. I do not mean to dishonor those brave men and woman for they stood with great honor and courage. But they have been dishonored, and betrayed in the lowest and most vile ways possible.
They stood for freedom of speech. For there can be no other freedom with out this one.
But we do not have freedom of speech. We are censored by political correctness, afraid to ex press an opinion, or to say that something is wrong. If you do your a bigot, homophobic, a zealot. This country was founded by people who where not afraid to speak their mind, personal consequence be damned. Now we are afraid to even teach our children the values of our for fathers and for this the country is damned. Damned to every more degenerated life styles, damned to every more repressive government. Damned to every more intolerance and bigotry. If we do not speak of these things openly and deal with them they become a festering hidden sore. Poisoning the hole of society, sickening the riches, laying low the up right. Until it can be found and lanced. As long as we allow our speech to be dictated, by those few who hold power by deigning truth. We are damned to the hell of oppression and slavery.
Look at those who are running for office do any of them say anything but that which they think people want to hear. Throw we know it to be a lie we elect the one who tells the prettiest lie. Then we wonder way we are damned to economic desolation, and moral bankruptcy.
Can there be any greater betrayal? Letting this vital freedom slip from our grasp because we might be labeled or ridiculed is cowardly and unworthy of a once free people.
But they have been dishonored, and betrayed in the lowest and most vile ways possible. We have allow our once great country to slip into the grip of an iron fisted police state. We have allowed police to ignore the rights of citizens. You no longer have even the most basic of freedoms where the police are concerned. With little or no provocation you can be held at gun point your family threatened or even murdered in front of you. And if anyone hears of it “I thought they where a threat” is all the explanation needed. The police claim this is self defense but in fact it is used to intimidate some, and silence others. Can there be any greater dishonor done to those who fought so valiantly for freedom.
How can this be? Perhaps the most insidious betrayal of all is letting the freedom of the press be suppressed, twisted, distorted, and at length distorted. With out a free press there can be no freedom, from government excess, from police brutality, from unjust and unfair taxation. The press allowed it self to be muzzled to promote national security. The silencing of the press has lead to a government that is run in secret. A government that has no idea of it's own intent. For each part has it's own intent. In to many instances the only intent a government agencies is to gain more power for it self regardless of the wast, or harm, This is what a free press is to insure against. By reporting the truth about military spending and what it is being spent for. Our troops will wind up with the best tools to do their jobs, instead of the one that puts the most money in someone pocket.
It is the press it self that must step up and take back this right or this country will be but a foot note in history. “The country that climbed from a few settlements to a great power only to topple in ruin from the destructive manifestations, of pride, greed, and fear.” We need a press that will point out the short comings of our government. That means the real short comings not in depth reports on governmental sexcapades. That in truth are no more than lurid gossip meant only to titillate readers and sell papers with out having any useful information to offer. The electronic media is even worse. Abuse by the police is an everyday occurrence but makes the news only rarely. A black man be beaten by police in Louisiana needs to be reported, so to dose a white family being held at gun point by police in Pennsylvania.
With the press reduced to reporting gossip, the police running amok. with more people in prison percapada than any other place on earth, with rampant civil right violations.
We have dishonored and betrayed those who have fought and died for this country. We have left for our children nothing save fear, deprivation, and enslavement, to a government that grows ever more corrupt and abusive.
There is no more freedom, only the dark damnation of an oppressive police state that cares only for power. The bodies of the innocent pile ever deeper, the eye that was to keep watch has gone blind. The cataracts of fear, ambition, and greed have driven all sight from the eye. Is there no where in the land a surgeon with the skill to remove the malignant growth is all lost. The republic is lost freedom is gone. Immigrant look not here for freedom it has gone. Send not your young to war to defend the honor of this country it dose not exist. Do not throw your life away in a vain attempt to secure for others that which we have lost. Look to other places perhaps there is yet a place where you can live free. But it is not here, not here not anymore.
